Corporate Highlights

  • Baltic Dry Index is at 7 week highs, and is up for 6th straight day. The index has gone up 8% this week, above 2500. It has come down sharply from high of 4291 this year. Baltic Capesize Index is at 6.94%, highest since September 2.
  • The consortium of Siemens and Siemens AG has won an export order worth Rs 403 crore from Ezdan Real Estate QSC, Doha, Qatar. The contract value for Siemens is Rs. 342 crore and Siemens AG is Rs 61 crore. The project is scheduled to be commissioned by January 2011.
  • Bajaj Electrical board to meet on October 12 on QIP, stock split
  • IVRCL Infrastructure & Projects has bagged orders of Rs 523.31 crore from UP Jal Nigam for integrated sewerage works under JNNURM in Allahabad and from Kakade Infrastructure of 5 building towers, super speciality hospital and a star hotel in Pune.
  • Micro Technologies India Ltd has signed a pact with Israel-based PetroNET to sell its security products in the Israel market. PetroNET has targeted business worth $5 million in the next 2 years.
  • The country's largest steel-maker SAIL reported 14 per cent growth in its sales at over 3 million tonnes during the second quarter ended September 2009, over the year-ago period.
  • EdServ Softsystems has announced that it has been awarded as Associate Training Provider (ATP) of Apex Hitech Institute, part of Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, whereby the company becomes authorised to provide MES training across India. EdServ estimates to generate revenues of around Rs 100 crore in the next 12-18 months by training around 3 lakh people comprising of school leavers, existing workers and ITI graduates.
