Corporate Highlights

  • GAIL Ltd, is constructing pipelines worth Rs 18,000-crore, which will augment its gas transportation network by 6,000-kilometres over the next three years. The company, at present, has a network of 7,000-kilometres. The company has invested in five new pipelines and taken up upgradation of some existing networks.
  • India Cements will set up two thermal power plants of about 50 MW capacity each in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh for internal consumption. The company would invest Rs 500 crore on the power plants. The power generated would be used for internal consumption.
  • Aurobindo Pharma has received an outstanding export performance award for the year 2008-09 from Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) at the recent Indo Africa Pharmia Business Meet in Hyderabad.
  • Unity Infraprojects Ltd has been awarded with the project by Amanora Park Town for construction of six towers, RCC works and gysum finish at Amanora Park Town, Hadapsar in Pune amounting to Rs. 54.56 crore t o be completed in 29 months.
  • Sadbhav Engineering Ltd has been awarded the two Road Projects aggregating worth Rs. 477.00 crores by Jharkhand Road Projects Implementation Company Ltd.
  • Comp-U-Learn Tech India board will meet on October 12, 2009 to mull acquisition in Boden Services, which is a US based software services & consulting company. Comp-U-Learn has planned complete diversification for the company. The company is going to set up 100 MW power plant at Krishnapatnam Port. It has market cap of Rs 26 crore.
  • MindTree has signed an agreement with Kyocera Wireless Corp. (KWC) to acquire Kyocera Wireless (India) Pvt. Ltd., its Indian subsidiary. The acquisition is subject to legal and statutory requirements, as well as certain closing conditions. Under the agreement, MindTree will make an upfront payment of approximately $ 6 million, and further payments linked to revenues in financial years 2010-11 and 2011-12.
