Corporate Highlights

  • Reliance Industries' (RIL) gas sales from its eastern offshore fields have risen to 35 million cubic metres a day (mmscmd), the highest since the nation's most prolific fields started producing in April.
  • Godrej Consumer Products is in talks for acquisition deals of about Rs 1000 crore in China, Latin America and the Middle East.
  • Essar Steel acquires Shree Precoated Steel. Thus, Essar Steel becomes country's largest CR steel producer. It will have annual capacity of 2 mt post acquisition.
  • Infosys BPO, the business process outsourcing subsidiary of Infosys Technologies, announced that ithas secured a five-year contract with T-Mobile UK. Infosys BPO has been engaged by T-Mobile UK to support several core processes for their finance directorate – covering customer finance,commercial finance and accounting (F&A) and procurement operations.
  • Eicher Motors July total sales at 2,112 units Vs 1,850 units (YoY)
  • JSW Steel crude steel production up 51% in July (YoY); JSW Steel flat products production up 45% in July (YoY)
  • India Cements despatch jumped 19% to a record 10.2 lakh tonnes in July 2009 over July 2008.
  • Mahindra & Mahindra is looking to double its non-tractor farm business revenue to Rs 120 crore a year.
